Session Summary 01

General Summary

Welcome to the Spring Start Festival

The PCs are in Heart for the Waking Ceremony as part of the Spring Start Festival.
Odithas had a go at the Coconut Shi, hitting and smashing, then missing, then critical hitting his coconuts.
Mimi spoke to Zorion. He was removing the protective spells from the fountain so the Heart of the Forest could have the Waking Ceremony performed. Mimi agreed to help, using a scroll to remove one of the protection layers.
Rhaegel and Mimi noticed a movement from one of the bushes below a tree near the outskirts of the clearing. They investigated to find a 2 foot hole, like a burrow, in the ground.
Miggles headed to the leather goods stall run by Albion. He buys five new pairs of underwear but requires change for his gold pieces which Cassia willingly helps with. Cassia then goes on to buy herself some leather gloves she can still use a sword with; liking them so much she attempts to bargain with Albion to buy a second pair half price. Albion is having non of it.
Rhaegel casts a Message spell from afar, telling Miggles he likes his underwear and also mentioning the hole.
Albion closes the leather stool.
Jerrol was concerned for Persephone's safety; he's quite drunk. Persephone ends up buying Jerrol a beer and they head to have a go at the Coconut Shi. Jerrol notices and stops Odithas trying to pick-pocket Persephone.
Mimi checked the whole again. It looked like a creature had been in or out since she last looked.

The ceremony starts

The Waking Ceremony ritual is started by Zorion with Albion, Jerrol, Mimi, Miggles and Rhaegel joining by standing on separate pillars of the fountain and kick starting the Heart of the Forest by imbuing it with magical energy.
Mimi and Odithas both notice a "scruffling" near the whole again. Other people must have heard too as they move to investigate it.

Goblins!

One young Halfling gets dragged down the whole before Odithas is able to do anything about it. Horrid sounds follow: Goblins tearing the Halfling apart.
Most people at the festival now start to panic and flee as 3 Goblin Minions run out of the whole and attack Odithas and two others. Odithas easily sidesteps the attack but a Halfling is not so fortunate.
Rhaegel breaks rank at the ritual and conjours three magic missiles, all three goblins are hit, one killed outright, saving Odithas needing to dodge another blow. Mimi and Miggles also break rank to rush to help spuring Cassia and the rest of the towns guard also run to help.
At the hole edge, Mimi conjours a Mage Hand to go down the hole. More Goblins just under the surface can be heard.
Using some fierce words and his training Miggles freaks out the second Goblin Minion to the point of a heart attack, killing the creature. This leaves Odithas time to aim his crossbow; a perfect shot sees his bolt shatter the last of the the Goblin's skull giving everyone all a chance to consider what to do next.
