Dhealdir

The Selfless Demi-Deity

Dhealdhir is the son of Pelor and an Istartian woman, he is the younger son of Pelor and though he holds true to the tenants of healing, sunlight and strength; he has taken a voluntary absence of the heavenly plains and has chosen to live a mortal life. After the betrayal of Ygdin and the battle that followed, Dhealdir felt betrayed by his brother and ignored by his father, and so he left both sides behind to take care of the mortals in the middle. Relationships

Dhealdir and Ygdin were once extremely close, but once Ygdin allied with Orcus they became bitter enemies. He still loves his brother, but has vowed to eliminate his sibling before he can hurt more people. Dhealdhir is very close with his younger sister, Fengarey, though he see's her as a naïve teenager he knows that she is good at heart.
Dhealdir has not spoken to his father for many years, he believes his father failed him and his brother. When Ygdin first began to show dissent towards the tenets of his father, Pelor could have done more to aid his eldest son, but instead chose to ignore him and send the younger son to deal with him. Dhealdir believes Ygdin would have not fallen for Orcus lies if his father had beseeched him instead of his brother. Following Ygdin's fall Dhealdir left the plains of his father for a normal life.

Dhealdhir lives in hiding in Usnium, with his wife Marta and his son Elias. He works in the Istarti military defending the southern border from the orcish tribes. Dhealdhir finds a spot in Jafare to make a home and hides there until inevitably the people find out who he is, at which point he relocates.
He chose his current home as the people of Usnium do not care for the gods, and so he would likely not be recognised. This worked quite well, he still has to deal with occasional priests or soul seekers who track him down to ask for his guidance, but they are normally either sworn to secrecy or sent away abruptly with threats of violence.
