The strength of Aithlin

The Patriarch is an important part of Aithlin society, as it is the highest honour bestowed to a member of the household. Though it is not a rule, this honour is usually given to the eldest member of the house. The Patriarch’s two main responsibilities are the betterment of the house as a whole, and a betterment of all of Aithlin.
Julianus Jandar is such a patriarch, he has been the protector of house Jandar ever since he was a young man. When the old patriarch passed away Julianus, his uncle and his older brother stepped into the Aithanon together for six months to discuss who should be the next Patriarch, although Julianus was young it was decided he would be the new Patriarch of house Jandar, the youngest ever recorded.

Master of the Arcane

When Julianus was young, but before he became Patriarch, Julianus travelled to Nilnui to study at the university of Daegress Mars, a prominent arcane school in Estua. Here he learned how to master spell casting as an Enchanter wizard, this was unconventional for someone from his house, but Julianus wished to explore the world and learn the ways of the arcane.
This which once was his main aspiration, became a hobby after inheriting his position of Patriarch. This is not to say he is not skilled in his practice, he uses his skills to help defend Aithlin and strengthen the weapons of all of House Jandar, and magically enchant the prison of Aithlin. Because of his skills with magic he has begun work with Sovenis Silvershade to establish a magic school for all houses of Aithlin.

Reformations

Julianus' first task was to reform the prison systems of house Jandar, with a focus on reforming drow prisoners. This is a point of contention in house Jandar as many believe it has bought few results and cost many lives. Aithlin is a prime location for young drow to take their initiation and attacks from the dark elves are common. Any drow who survive the battles are taken to house Jandars prison on the outskirts of Aithlin where the wood elves attempt to teach them about compassion, and untangle the web of lies about other races fed to every drow child from birth.
The only example of these teachings and guidance having actually worked is of Brynn Velven’Naïlo, the teachings had not fully sunken by the time he was released but after travelling Jafare he came to understand truly the lies he had been fed since birth. Brynn returned to Jandar and was greeted like a son. Julianus considers Brynn evidence that there is good an all, and his attempts to find the light in darkness are not in vain.
