Tormadril
The Vapid Desert.
Tormadril is located in an arid region stretching between the jungle borders in the West to the plains in the North. The nation's Eastern border was marked by the beginning of Dragons Grave. It is a wasteland hiding numerous ruins and long forgotten magic. Snakes Canyon is the Capital city of Tormadril, Countess Madrisso leads not just the city, but the who nation.Snakes Canyon
Snakes canyon is led by Countess Farli Madrisso, and has become a safe haven for artists, archeologists, alchemists and acolytes alike. The city has become a home to many intellectuals as it has two main universities (Drumondis and Hevailo) that are extremely competitive. The Universities have been there since the founding of the city and constantly boast as to who has the greater minds graduate from them. Notable Graduates from Drumondis are Bishop Liabae Swoon, the grand Bishop of Pelor and Pimtok, god of trickery. Notable graduates from Hevailo are Umeran Windfall, the president of Iarwynn and Samthir Togwinborn, Prince of Bondstone.Court of Shadows:
Deep within the cave systems under Snakes Canyon lies the Court of Shadows, this group of wizards, sorcerers and acolytes of the arcane gather to study and protect the Everlast portal, a glowing black gate to shadowfell that has been open for millenia. Some wish to understand its purpose, theorising that it is the gate used when the Raven Queen left for her throne, others suggest it is the gate that remains hidden from her eye. The gate itself is guarded by a lineage of trusted individuals who are naturally born with the fell energy.Dry Steps
Built upon and throughout a large collection of buttes, the city known as The Dry Steps is an oasis to those travelling the harsh environment that surrounds it. The city was not built above the sand floor below by accident though, it has the added benefit of avoiding attack from the giant worms that live underneath the sand. The Dry Steps act as a safe landmark in the desert where travellers can restock, rest a while or rearrange their travel plans. The most worshipped deity in The Dry Steps is Pelor the sun god, they believe The Dry Steps and Tormadril desert as a whole is the most sacred ground to Pelor as it is here his light shines the hardest.Lake Talmad
Built on the side of Lake Talmad is the city of Talmad. The Lake is the closest source of freshwater for miles around. The water source is numerous geysers underground that shoot water up from the underdark. There are no tall buildings here and no towers. Such constructions would blot out the presence of God from the city, or so the old priests used to say. As a result of their influence, not least over lawmakers - in fact, a maximum of three storeys was allowed by statute, in operation to this day - the inhabitants had to make do without a skyline. And while law and religion had cut off the vertical, two surreally proximate rivers had strangled the city horizontally, too, leaving just a small patch for new development. Yet each of these limitations, sometimes bitterly resented over the 1500 years since established, became a blessing in its own way. Being between twin rivers, the fishermen divided up the waters between them, and coming to embody the distinct characters of each, they devised distinct rituals and ceremonies for mobilizing the provider spirits. This is the source of the city's cosmopolitan character, and the source of its strength.Progress through unity.
