Doull, Lloyd -WW2-
In December 1941, as a Sergeant in the Royal Rifles of Canada, Lloyd saw action in the Battle of Hong Kong. Following capitulation on Christmas Day 1941, Lloyd and his comrades endured 44 months of disease, starvation and slave labour in Japanese prison camps. Lloyd bore the physical and emotional scars of this ordeal for the rest of his life, and was cared for with endless devotion by Peggy, whom he survived by only 27 days. - Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association
