Francesco's Terrific Flying Tome is a magical book imbued with the spirit of an ancient scholar whose name is said to be lost to the tome's innumerable pages. When the command word "Scribe" (the Terrific Flying Tome understands all languages) is spoken aloud by the Terrific Flying Tome's owner, the Tome will begin following a creature of the owner's choice that the owner can see. The Terrific Flying Tome will then begin following and documenting everything that happens around the creature that it's following. The Terrific Flying Tome turns invisible to any creature that isn't actively thinking about or looking for it. If a creature does think about the Terrific Flying Tome, it becomes visible to that creature as it continues to chronicle. While invisible, the only evidence of the Tome's presence is the barely perceivable sound of a quill scratching on paper. This sound is only perceptible from very close range.
If anyone besides the Terrific Flying Tome's owner or creatures designated by the Tome's owner attempt to touch the Tome it will evade by floating out of reach. If another creature manages to touch the Tome, the Tome will emit a blast of arcane energy and turn invisible to all observers for 2 to 40 hours. The Tome is also incredibly persistent, even teleporting to keep up with the target creature.
Upon inspection, the Tome will reveal only gibberish to anyone but the Tome's owner. The Tome's owner may browse whichever pages of the Tome's volumes that they choose as the Tome provides them a perfect awareness of all of the various sections and stories that have ever been written in the Tome. While the Terrific Flying Tome is following a creature, the Tome's owner can say the command word "Transcribe" while touching a blank book or scroll to cause everything written in the Tome to be written into the blank book or scroll in real time. Only one book or scroll can be the target of the Tome's transcription at a time.
The Terrific Flying Tome's owner can cause the Tome to magically return to them at any time by speaking the command "return to me oh accursed scholar." The Tome fails to return if it is on another plane of existence. The tome also returns early if the target creature dies and does not return to life within 24 hours.
Ordinarily the Terrific Flying Tome will chronicle events occurring around the target creature in a dull style in any language of the owner's choosing. If the Tome's owner says the "Scribe" command word and a description of the style that the Tome's owner wants the Tome to write in, such as "noire" or "tragic" then the Terrific Flying Tome will adjust it's vocabulary to accommodate. The Terrific Flying Tome's script always comes across as dry in spite of the Tome's efforts.

The Terrific Flying Tome is a magical book that was created in the Old World period by powerful Spark Mages alongside many other exceptionally powerful magical items. The Terrific Flying Tome represents a time of magical innovation leaps and bounds beyond what the spell casters of today can accomplish. Most recently a Terrific Flying Tome was used to chronicle the adventures of The Final Hour in their battle against Yzeron, The Void Slaad. The Terrific Flying Tome followed The Final Hour up until they vanished from the world in 38 ABA at The Battle of Castle Platinum

Rarity

This is a one of a kind magical tome possessed by Francesco Carino Demodesto. As of 36 ABA, there are two identical Terrific Flying Tomes known to exist.
