An Expanse of Cosmos

The Sea of Sparks is not a "sea" in the physical sense, although it does share a number of qualities with actual seas and oceans. The Sea of Sparks is an incalculably large, undulating body of raw cosmos. Its actual attributes remain largely a mystery as it is unusual for any mortal to actually find themselves stationary on the Sea of Sparks rather than briefly flashing across it to one of the the inner planes or to another location on the same plane of existence. What is known of the Sea of Sparks is that it is a volatile and unpredictable place that is comprised of the unrefined, uncontrolled constituents of all of existence.
All manner of magic, is believed by many to be directly or indirectly powered by the Sea of Sparks. This point is contested by many within religious orders. All mortal life is also derived of the Sea of Sparks, as the life energy that courses through a healthy body pours in through a roughly hewn rift. This rift is the direct connection that all mortals have back to the Sea of Sparks, and to one another.

Known Dangers

The Sea of Sparks is best known for the conflict between the Astralus Praedon and Est'Meri Dominus. While these factions are well known for their conflict against one another, both are known to attack and invade parts of other planes within Internus for resources. While both of these factions represent intelligent hostile agents that prowl the Endless Sea, there are other, even more mysterious threats as well. Spark Giants, Dreadnoughts, Gaseous creatures, and all manner of other trans-planar horrors reside within the world between worlds. Little is known of most creatures within the Sea of Sparks as few survive encounters with such beings, lesser still with their minds intact. The only peaceful interactions known to have been had between the mortals of Jeharr and any creatures that reside on the Sea of Sparks have been during limited interactions with certain members of Est'Meri Dominus and with a small breakaway faction of the Astralus Praedon, called Pax Astralus.

Natural Resources

The Sea of Sparks is merely endless unrefined cosmos and offers little to any creature with access to it, as the knowledge of how to work it has long been lost with the fall of the Divine Creator. Mortals and other creatures often make use of the Sea of Sparks' raw energy to cast spells and create magical effects. Any and all energy taken from the Sea of Sparks, however, inevitably ends with a return of the energy borrowed back to the Sea of Sparks. Any creature that attempts to take permanent possession of energy from the Sea of Sparks, be it via attempts at unnaturally elongated life, or through the manifestation of undeath, are doomed to fail and likely suffer a terrible fate.
