Captain Ravar Borea
Captain Ravar Borea was a mariner mining prospector that would not give up. Hailing from the largely populated continent of Malador he set off towards Briskall isle in three ships led by a compass and a pair of dowsing rods certain there was gold in that direction. The island had been previously explored by many but offered little in the way of resources and was unsettled. When he arrived at Briskall Isle no gold was found there but the rods still pointed westward.
No one had sailed beyond this point and Ravar Borea's ancestors had spoken of a period of strange light storms. Sailing in during that time might have been suicidal and from the flashes long seen ago in the distant sky it still seemed a grave risk. Still his rods pointed towards great riches and so they sailed on not knowing if they would find land at all.
Through strange storms and famine the crew sailed on with blind hope until they finally found land. The first ship the Cantor went out to scout ahead and ran aground cross coral reef. By the time rest of the ships caught up with it the crew had been made a meal of by the Crustasha. Vastly outnumbered captain Ravar Borea led the two ships long the coast round the coastline to the western end of the continent. In the mountains in that region Captain Borea found what his rods had been pointing to all along. Gold.
Henceforth this region would be called the Borea mountains. A great river extended from the mountains to the far eastern realm of the continent his crew had sailed from. Laden with gold and headed back to their mainland they would need face the Crustasha again only this time they would be prepared. Using the metal resources within the mountain they outfitted their remaining ships for battle.
Long the straight though they met the Galeb Duhr who considered the earthen resources to be their own. With the weapons they had Ravar Borea negotiated with the people of earth and his gruff manner was just what was needed, he offered to dig out portions of gold for the Galeb Duhr to eat. When they reached the far end of the shores they battled with the Crustasha and were Victorious.
It wasn't long before news of the massive amounts of gold coming out of this chokepoint reached the ears of pirates and soon many crews immigrated to the eastern shores in wait of ambush who formed a coalition known as the Reef Sharks . The pirates made the region more navigable and pushed the Crustasha beyond a wall they had constructed. Captain Ravar Borea and the dwarves of Malador battled the pirates effectively but eventually negotiated a treaty of tariffs with the Reef Sharks and the The Temple of the Grasping Waters
