Jeslore Time marches on

Ageless and Endless

Theme

Jeslore, a world in evolution

When a hero dies, what do they leave behind other than skin, bones and worn weaponry? Their legacy lies in ideology: The imposition of their will and the shaping of nations in their image. Even surpassing their leaders, heroes have a lasting impact on the history of the land they serve. Their ideas, idioms, and dreams are remembered... for better or worse.   This is Jeslore, a planet-realm that, through brave individuals and collectives alike, had its very culture and morality defined. Fantasy narratives, even some of the grandest, can often remain static. From tone, to setting, to even its idols: As history marches within its world, much will remain the same.   Jeslore is different.   Although the mark they may leave is significant, heroes come and go, but time and science inevitably march forwards without them. The inhabitants of Jeslore must learn to adapt to times without its moral beacons and define itself, both ideologically and politically, so they can brace themselves for a new dawn. They must come to understand the philosophies their heroes left behind in a new light, in circumstances no one could have predicted.   Each new era of uncertainty will breed new heroes that, through their own deeds, define their era and leave their mark on the world. Time will march on and heroes, from the brave knight Tower Charlot to the legendary super-soldier Melody Kingmaker, will leave their wisdom behind for scholars in the far future to study. Not because they wish to be remembered, but because the mark of a hero is to do what is right, even at the cost of their lives.   And so... it is upon the shoulders of the common people of Jeslore to leave their own mark on the history and turn their dire situation into an adventure: build vast empires, defeat overwhelming foes, be a technological trailblazer, or create sublime works of art. History will always give those who seized great opportunities the spotlight they deserve.   This is Jeslore, a planet-realm with a timeline stretching from ancient times of the great bronze ages to distant futures far beyond our own understanding, overflowing with epic stories, rich cultures, and complex political turmoil.   The Foundation is an era of granite, marble, and bronze. It is here where the first ancient empires are born that set the stage for terrifying wars in the future, but also the great technologies that advanced the march of time. And the hopes and dreams, for what one day may be possible.

The era of the binding light is when the first great philosophies begin to bloom. Political, religious, military, and perhaps most importantly moral philosophy has found its birth in the era of the blinding light. But for historians, the most important idea born from this era is war.

Gold and Steel is the name holder for the great medieval era of Jeslore. It is far from a dark age, as during The Age of Gold and Steel culture has given birth to the name that will forever be synonymous with entertainment: Comedy. More than comedy, it is also during this age that the first great heroes forever change the course of Jeslorian history. It is the age where the immortals are born.
Steel and copper find a new purpose for themselves, becoming part of the great machinery that defines the mighty Vortaustkank era of steam and heavy industry. Perhaps more importantly, it is at this time ideas like monarchy and autocracy are forsaken in favor of ideas of the future, such as democracy and technocracy.
A new era of technology and culture dawns when the people of Jeslore start Chasing the clouds. The invention of powered flight technology drastically changes the realm. It is the very first era that will be defined by new technologies rather than new ideas.
The world has entered an era of information and instant communication. Wars are now fought less on the battlefield and more through technology and culture, and the race towards the stars. Yet, mighty armies and destructive weapons still pose a threat, and it is here where diplomacy becomes integral to the survival of the brittle peace between radically opposing ideologies. This is the Synthrise.
A new threat has dawned, not a foreign military force that seeks to attack civilizations but an internal economic force that has taken control over the lives of many. With governments unwilling and unable to punish the corporations without losing loads of funds, it is upon the average man to fight back. The Age of Anarchy has dawned, and the streets are full of brawls and battles for old ideas and morals.
The march of time has taken its toll on the old ideologies, and it is time for Jeslore to create new ones. But politicians are wary before they discard the wrong ideas while creating their own. During the Glory Ages, governments struggle to implement the old and tired virtues into their new ideology that is to span not just one but multiple planets.

Evil is not a single entity, it comes in many shapes and sizes. The Seven-Year-Strife serves as a reminder that even after the most merciless obliteration, twisted individuals will find a way to sow the seeds of evil once more.
If the seven-year-strife serves as our reminder that evil is never far around the corner, the Divide will be our reminder that, no matter how dark the night is or how ancient their beliefs are, there will always be heroes rising from the masses, willing to defend their ideology at all costs. People learn that for things to get better, they must get worse first.
On the foundation of war, destruction, and structural collapse a new world is built. The New Dawn is a technological renaissance, an era where people adapt to their situation so they may rebuild their great empires and cities in their own image. They can redefine how old ideas are understood in the light of a razed realm that desperately needs something to hold on to.

Ideas from long ago bear grave consequences today, but the world and universe contain marvels waiting to be discovered. But having faced struggle from anywhere, the people of Jeslore must now fight against the unknown itself. The struggles from beyond the stars have arrived, and Jeslore is determined to defend to the last against the unknown, but they can find comfort knowing one thing for sure: It will make its Last Stand united.   This is Jeslore, and its stories are without end. It will continue to live on, as long as there are stories, ideas, and heroes.
