Moon Metal / Star Metal

Moon Metal, "Star Metal", also known as "Moonfall ore", was the name in the for a metallic meteorite that fell to the planet upon the destruction of the Jethiea’s second moon. Moon metal is the leftover material from the impact of an object fallen from space. It is extremely rare and in high demand because it could be forged with common metals to make durable weapons of great strength. When found, these stones were usually small, about thumb-sized, though ogre-head-sized pieces were known to have been discovered. There are large reserves that impacted the land, but if discovered are kept secret by those that find them.

Applications

Alloyed with common metals, this material increased the strength, sharpness, flexibility, and durability of weapons, making them ideal for enchantment. Moon metal was reputed to enhance the strength and duration of any enchantments placed on blades that included it, but it was difficult to prove such claims. One confirmed case of this type of weapon improvement was in the weapons and armor seen through out Helleflam used by a group of adventurers. In addition to weapon smithing, tiny pieces were sometimes sliced and polished for inlay work.
