Aroen
The Aroen, or the Great Salt river as it is colloquially known, is the lifeblood of western Etha. The Aroen is a narrow inland sea which divides Egriunda and other western reaches of the medieval kingdom from Furanke. Historically the body of water served to drain the rivers of central Etha out to sea, taking with them fishers and traders. From such sources could grain be shipped north, to Denk and Ethernia, west to Furanke, and south towards Provune and Ethaine. However, as it served to allow Ethains ease of access to the sea, it would too serve to allow hostile seagoers access to Etha- notably in the cases of Nivagran and Kryti raiders and more pronounced in the Seduni invasion.
