Strait of Nahmkerad
The strait of Nahmkerad is the body of water created by the Karbasi peninsula and the coast of Fripperland, dividing the Great Channel into two parts, east and west. At the northern end of the strait, at the end of the Karbasi peninsula, sits the famed and storied city of Nahmkerad itself, from which the strait receives its name. Upon its southern end, along the coast of Fripperland, lies an escarpment on which many different colonies from around the Great Channel, be they Atinian, Rutheinia, or otherwise, would develop. Directly south of Nahmkerad across the strait would be primarily Karbasi colonies, which would reinforce the strait's tolls and taxes on transported cargo. Such an important source of revenue continues to the modern day for those who control the strait, as much of the world's trade goes through the channel, and thus the strait.
