The Kingdom of Saer- Inheritor of Ardania

The Kingdom of Saer, a unique province within the remnants of the Great Kingdom of Ardania, holds steadfast to the old traditions and customs that once defined the realm. Unlike the other provinces, Saer remains a bastion of the Faith of the Maiden and upholds a constitutional monarchy.
Saer was established in the aftermath of the Plague Wars, a period of devastation that reshaped the face of Ardania. Amidst the chaos and loss, the people of Saer forged their own path, preserving the traditions and values that had long defined their region.
One pivotal moment in Saer's history was the implementation of the Articles of Crown and Sword. These articles established a constitutional monarchy, placing limits on the powers of the monarchy while also granting certain rights and freedoms to the citizens. The serf system, which had bound many to landownership, was abolished, marking a significant step towards greater equality within the kingdom.
Recognizing the importance of alliances, Saer entered the Norland Compact. This compact forged an economic and military alliance between Saer and the seafaring clans of the Volk, strengthening their defenses and bolstering their trade routes. This alliance with the Volk brought both prosperity and a strong naval presence to Saer.
However, recent events have shaken the stability of Saer. The failed Helgan Rebellion and attempted coup resulted in the tragic death of the King and Queen, leaving their young son, Prince Ranald, as the sole heir to the throne. This unexpected turn of events has thrown the kingdom into a state of uncertainty and vulnerability, as the young prince assumes the weighty responsibilities of rulership.
Adding to the growing turmoil, the Witch Hunters, a militant arm of the Church of the Dawn, have begun to disrupt the established order in Saer. This zealous group, driven by their religious fervor, seeks to eradicate any remnants of the Faith of the Maiden, challenging the long-standing traditions and values that Saer holds dear.
The Kingdom of Saer stands as a symbol of resilience and tradition in a changing world. It clings to the ancient customs and spiritual beliefs that once united the realm of Ardania. Yet, as internal, and external forces threaten the stability of Saer, the kingdom faces a challenging future, with the young Prince Ranald at the helm and the ever-looming presence of the Witch Hunters testing the kingdom's resolve.
