Gradia ((grahh-dee-uh))

Geography

Gradia has regionally varying geography. In the northwest there are the Feylands, a mystical jungle of sorts. Across the eastern river there's the Bogs, lands full of strife- be it hunger or war. In the southernmost tip of Gradia there are the Marshes. The Marshes are filled with treefolk villages and ruins. Finally in the center of Gradia there are the Deadlands. The region is charted only by scavengers, and as such information about its geography is unreliable.

Ecosystem

Gradia is a swamp-filled realm, characterized by its abundant wetlands and diverse range of flora and fauna. The ecosystem of Gradia is a complex network of interdependent organisms that have adapted to thrive in the wet and humid conditions of the region. The wetlands are home to a variety of plant species such as reeds, blightroot, fruitlillies, and mosses. These plants provide food and shelter for a vast array of animal life, including togs, slimes, leeches, snakes, and various species of fish.   Birds are also an essential part of the ecosystem, with many species inhabiting the region, including egrets, owls, and phoenixes. The birds feed on fish and insects, and their presence also helps to control the population of smaller animals.   In addition to the animals that live in the water and on the land, the swamps of Gradia are also home to a diverse range of insects, including mosquitoes, ankhegs, and fire beetles. These insects play a crucial role in the ecosystem by pollinating plants, breaking down organic matter, and providing food for other animals.   Slimes are by far the strangest creatures in Gradia. Not only are they sapient, but they can form massive hive minds by simply merging together. Some slimes have thousands of consciousnesses in them, with their physical sizes rivalling entire trees. Slimes spend thousands of years laying dormant in small patches of water, absorbing nutrients their entire lives. Because of their easy access to food, they haven't had a need to ever evolve.

Ecosystem Cycles

In the spring and summer, Gradia is warm and humid. In fall and winter, the land cools off ever-so-slightly. In biafel, however, Gradia is highly unpredictable. The undead rise and the waters turn purple.

Localized Phenomena

Gradia can occasionally have Feystorms, where magic missiles rain down instead of water. Luckily most trees are immune to it, sheltering the wildlife.

Natural Resources

Gradia is filled to the brim with salt, firewood, medicinal herbs, fruits, fibers, and resin. Unfortunately it lacks many metals, which has caused the populace to be technologically stagnated.
