Herevin's "The Fall of Dareyon"
Painted by the legendary elven artist Herevin around roughly 620 PF, it was the last of the artists great works. The portrait depicted the death of Perin the Sleepless as she held off the Vanguard of the Elfin Lords, buying time for the people of Dareyon(City) to escape.
Painted in magical pigments Herevin was famous for, it was the only know image of the event painted by someone who was present for the death of Perin, given the annihilation of the city and all present shortly thereafter by its Queen.
In the portrait, Perin's body is pierced by several spears and numerous arrows, as she is caught in midmotion, crumpling to her knees. Sunlight pours through the shattered gates, silhouetting the figures of the True Elfs, and bathing Perin in light.
The portrait is legendary, both for the quality of the painting and the complexity of the magics interwoven into the pigment.
The portrait was massive, nearly 40 feet wide by 20 feet wide.
It was lost during the The Rending but recovered again in 4662 PF by a group of explorers using magic to access a Rift
