Ritual based in gestures

A gesture that represents the ability or skill that will be targeted.
Source: Magical energy from the caster. Highly affected by determination.

Effect

The target is unable to use a skill or (with more effort) an ability. Some wizards with high concentration or planning skills, can affect several abilities at the same time, or concatenate several silence rituals, and keep them all working at the same time.
It's possible to use this ritual with other forms of magic destined to identify abilities or skills.

Side/Secondary Effects

Related skills will fail or disappear too, specially if the target is an ability.. This doesn't apply to innate abilities.

Physical Restrictions

The wizard needs to be close to the target and focus on the task to some extent.

Some wizards may need to establish physical contact at least in the moment of casting (touch is often part of the ritual itself).

Some may be unable to keep the Silence while performing other magical tasks.

Regulations

It's use must be justified.

While not illegal, it's considered quite rude.

Any harm caused by silencing someone's skill is considered assault and will be prosecuted.
