Urrlanis (Urr-lan-iss)
Found on: Jai’maan, of the eastern coast
Capital: Urlan
Languages: Elven, Northern Trade Tongue
Clothing and Costume: Flowing and beautiful silks and cloths. Think the elves in the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings movies.
Names: Elves are considered children until they declare themselves adults, sometime after the hundredth birthday, and before this period they are called by child names.
On declaring adulthood, an elf selects an adult name, although those who knew him or her as a youngster might continue to use the child name. Each elf's adult name is a unique creation, though it might reflect the names of respected individuals or other family members. Little distinction exists between male names and female names; the groupings here reflect only general tendencies. In addition, every elf bears a family name, typically a combination of other Elvish words.
Currency: The most basic currency in Urrlanis is the silver Hoke. The other coins they use are the jade Ki, gold Gour, and emerald Jis.
Religion: The Pantheon of the Elves is worshipped exclusively in Urrlanis. While all of the deities of the pantheon are worshipped, Correllon Larethian is celebrated above all others.

Political Structure: The elves of Urrlanis generally live peaceful, idyllic existence. Urrlanis is a monarchy, but there isn’t a line of succession. The ruler is known as the Oak King or Ash Queen depending on if the ruler is male or female. When they have reached the point where their health prevents them from being an effective ruler an elf from somewhere within the borders of Urrlanis will come to the palace. The old ruler will then put the crown on the head of the new ruler and the monarchy continues. This is all due to the Heart Tree. The real ruler of the elves is the Heart Tree, which is actually connected to all other trees and plants on Urrlanis. The Heart Tree is sentient and possesses the elf who sits on the throne. So while the ruler changes from time to time, there is a single continuous consciousness in control of Urrlanis. This is something the elves keep to themselves, and it is forbidden for non-elves to know the truth.Currency: The most basic currency in Urrlanis is the silver Hoke.
