Chasm
Late Spring, 1356 AB
... and well it didn't go as well as bad as I thought it would. We weren't able to talk our way out of it as I had originally hoped, but we somehow defeated them in combat. That was so close, we were all pretty tapped. I didn't even contribute much to the fighting, Genji carried us so much through that fight. I'm not even close to carrying my weight in this party. Afterwards, we all headed are way towards the chasm. As we got close, there was a permanent night sky over the chasm, which was very worrying. I didn't want to take Bito in the dark for worry of him shutting down, but Conradus wants to go everywhere with him, so it's his responsibility. After fighting some "demons" or whatever they're called, we made our way into the chasm.
I don't know the origins of this chasm, but it needs to be dealt with in time. I don't want the evil of this chasm to spread beyond this chasm; it must be at least contained. But I digress, once we were within the chasm, we ended up following a crow of Laxius. The crow took us through a teleportation sigil and we followed it with no hesitation. Because what could apparently go wrong. Apparently a lot, but we managed to avoid it... most of it. We bumped into both Laxius and another one of the apostles, goes by Vazrimoth or something. We decided it would be a good idea for me to sneak up and eavesdrop on their conversation, while invisible. They had some disagreements, She/It used a strange device to open a portal to from where the demons come from. Thinking it was a good idea at the time, and with Conradus agreeing with me, I grabbed the device and teleported back to Conradus and Genji. As soon as I could, I plainshifted us back to Tengoku. Conradus took the device back to his home, while we planned for an attack on the snake woman.
All in all, we took something important from them that looked very powerful. I would say overall that was a successful mission, albeit a bad idea that turned out well for us. But there is no phrase that describes us better.
Panic
Late Spring 1356 AB
I’ve seen Conradus writing these on occasion so maybe I should write one of these, especially with all that’s going on. Today, I think I panicked, for the first time. Or maybe it’s just the first time I’ve realized it. When I faced Mugen and trapped him, I froze. Was that panic? I didn’t even know I was capable of panicking. Well, today I risked our lives on a feeling, an instinct. Something didn’t feel right with those three prisoners. We followed their directions and opened the door to find the jailor, and ended up in space. I mean what?!?! How did the other two not panic? Aren’t I supposed to be the emotionless one?
I decided to confront the jailor and talk to him; I didn’t fully believe that he had some all powerful silver tongue. And when I found out that he didn’t, that’s when I froze; what am I even supposed to do or say in that situation? Before I had time to collect my thoughts, Out Conradus cake with the power of banishment and we had to fight. We defeated the jailor and his pet lion thing, but we were all spent. And later found out I was right, and those three prisoners are actually evil Tenshi yokai.
I don’t blame Conradus; my life was very much in danger. But what would have happened if I didn’t freeze? How would things be different if I didn’t panic? My panic has nearly killed us twice now, and it may still, given that we were surrounded by those Tenshi. How did the three of us manage to get out of there with our lives? Well...
