The Twilight Enclave
At the center of the small village of Taizai, lovingly crafted from polished cobblestone and lacquered wood, and surrounded by a smattering of small buildings stands the guild hall of the Twilight Enclave. The Twilight Enclave is comprised of mercenaries, hunters, rangers, and other aspiring warriors that take contracts to hunt rare animals and powerful Yokai typically for high value reagents (though they can be hired for escort and guard missions as well).
Members of the Enclave wear a verdant green and brown color scheme and are masters of wilderness survival. It is not uncommon for Enclave members to spend several weeks at a time in the field without being able to return to the guild hall.
Structure
The Twilight Enclave follows a hierarchical structure with the Master of the Wild overseeing all other members.
- Springwarden- This is the rank received once a trial contract is completed and entry is permitted. Receive Insignia: All new faction members receive the Enclave insignia as a wearable silver clasp.
- Summerstrider- Summerstriders have shown that they’re aligned with the Enclave's goals, and are able to take on more responsibility. Secret Missions: Summerstriders might be given the opportunity to undergo a secret mission on behalf of the Enclave, such as a secret delivery mission, an extermination mission, etc. Improved Insignia: The Enclave insignia is imbued with magic power. Any non-magical cloak worn with the insignia is treated as a Cloak of Elvenkind
- Autumnreaver- Autumnreavers are reliable faction members, entrusted with many secrets and deserving of additional support during adventures. Safe Haven: When making camp outdoors (in the wilderness), they gain advantage on Survival checks to camouflage it. If they spend more than one day camping in the same location, they can treat it as a Safe Haven. Autumnreavers cannot be surprised while in the Safe Haven. Any short rests taken in a Safe Haven confer the same benefits as a long rest would, and long rests taken in the Safe Haven immediately nullify any points of Exhaustion. Cache: An Autumnreavers team gains access to a cache of supplies including basic weaponry, armor, and adventuring gear worth 500gp. The cache is replenished every 2 weeks and may contain Ofuda, scrolls, and other items of uncommon quality as the Enclave acquires them.
- Winterstalker- Winterstalkers are trusted voices within Enclave leadership. They are looked upon as champions of the organizations beliefs, and as mentors by those of lower rank. Improved Cache: The worth of a Winterstalker's cache increases to 1000gp and may contain Ofuda or scrolls of rare quality. Improved Insignia: A Winterstalker's insignia is further enchanted and imbued with power. Over a long rest, they can change the focus of the insignia to treat any non-magical cloak worn with the insignia as a Cloak of Dragonhide with resistance to acid, lightning, fire, cold, or poison (this choice cannot be undone once selected).
- Season Lord- Only a select few ever rise through the ranks of the Twilight Enclave to earn the tile of Season Lord. Season Lord's are ensconced within the leadership of the Enclave and have a great degree of influence guiding faction decisions. They are involved with the decision making process in terms of assigning contracts to Enclave members. Beast Master: A Season Lord's team is awarded a flute with a 40% chance of summoning either an Arashitora or a Kirin. Summoning the Yokai takes 1 minute, and regardless of whether the summoning is successful or not, the flute cannot be used for 7 days. The summoned creature is friendly towards the one who summoned it, though it has no obligation to remain with them.
Public Agenda
The Twilight Enclave's tenets and goals are as follows:
- Nature demands respect. Respect your surroundings while on the hunt.
- Preserve the natural order while rooting out unnatural threats.
- Keep the elemental forces of the world in check. Ensure that civilization and the wild do not destroy each other.
- The Enclave is your family; you watch out for it, and it watches out for you.
