Mol'arak

A red dwarf star fairly young compared to the age of the universe. It is orbited by three main barren planets with two dwarf planets located in its single asteroid belt located between the orbits of the second and third main planets. The planets themselves while mineral-rich, are not remarkable and could be found anywhere in the galaxy.   What separates Mol'arak from other red dwarfs are the mass of satellites in stable orbit above it. The network of satellites consists of a solar energy collector and a single particle collector and accellerator station.   The solar energy collector is designed so that it would directly harvest negatively charged electrons and positively charged protons from the sun in order to create electricity, which is kept in a series of power cells facing away from the sun. The satellites would regularly dock with the station in order to transfer its power to the station, before disengaging and moving away, to be replaced with other collection satellites. While docked at the station, the satellites also undergo maintenance to replace any broken parts or maintain its efficiency.   The station on its orbit is almost completely automated, usually run by a pair of technicians for ten solar cycles before they are replaced by another pair of technicians. The station features a large funnel that absorbs the absorbable energy of a solar flare while funneling the unabsorbable particles and subparticles into a large particle accelerator which can be used to project a concentrated beam of solar flare onto the surface of the first planet, where the beam is used to refine the highly resilient Virium metal, prized in the Kadhulu sector for being strong, light and able to reflect heat away from its surface.

Geography

The star is more active than a typical red dwarf star, but is fairly common in the known universe. It is the type of star which is incapable of supporting life as we know it, though lichen is able to make use of it to grow on the surface of the second planet.   There are areas of cooler surface where probes have been sent in the past to study the core of the planet.

Fauna & Flora

There is no flora or fauna that can survive on the sun, though a form of small rodent-like creatures have been discovered living in the station and the satellites, which caused a lot of damage lately.

Natural Resources

Mol'arak is a fount of energy. From time to time, sun flares would be sent out of its surface, which is detected beforehand by the station and captured before being redirected to the surface of the first planet. The stations can also send out drones that are capable of firing particles to irritate the surface of the sun, making it more likely to launch another solar flare that can be used by the station.   It also has a ready supply of Helium and Hydrogen which can be harvested easily.
