Pollos
The lad who was born Elqosh-nar-Shebo who was now known as Pollos came from a successful merchant family. From a young age, Pollos found his feet would take him places before his mind even thought of it. Many a day his father would catch him wandering beyond the edge of their land on the outskirts of Dederiya, one of the largest cities of Ammayat. As he grew, so did his wanderlust and curiosity, both of which drew him to Ayo, his father's chief slave. Captured during a raid many years ago, Ayo was happy to share with the boy tales from his youth as a soldier, in the far lands of Nimmur. He even taught the boy the skill of archery, which fascinated Pollos that an object could be fired so far and fast. When he was old enough to travel with his father to the capital to help with the merchant market selling their families' textiles, Pollos was overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of peoples from all over the known world. He would speak to any foreigners who would dignify him with a response, asking questions of their homelands. As Pollos passed into his 16th year, he began having visions. Always they would start with him traveling across distant, unfamiliar lands, seeing sights he had never seen before, The dreams would always end with a mysterious figure running just out of clear view, then vanish. For weeks Pollos would wake from the same dream, wondering what it could mean. Finally one night in the dream he was able to run close to the mysterious figure, not enough to see his face clearly, but enough to make out a strange rounded helm he wore. When he awoke, he knew it was none other than the God Taautos (who he would later learn is known as Hermes in Kadmeia), sending him his mysterious dreams, no not dreams, but a vision. A vision to show him the path he must follow. Over the next few days he gathered up his meager supplies, including a bow and arrows Ayo had crafted for him as a present for his 16th birthday, and planned his move. When next his father planned to bring Pollos to the City to work in the Merchant Market, he slipped away and headed down to the docks. Finding a ship, he paid for passage with most of his meager earnings, a ship headed to Kadmeia. There he would follow the path laid before him by Hermes, and explore a new and wondrous land
