Asmodeus, Old Deus of Indulgence and the Nine Hells

"One of the finest lessons of history is this: If a man has been bamboozled long enough, he tends to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. He's no longer interested in finding out the truth—the bamboozle has captured him. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to himself, that he has been taken. Once you give the charlatan power, you never get it back."

The devil god of the Hells is the master of tyranny and domination. His words are honeyed and carefully crafted, soothing and corrupting the mortal heart. Asmodeus rules with an iron fist, and the punishments awaiting those that cross him are the basis of nightmares. He is the undisputed master of indulgence. Encouraging his followers to indulge in the luxuries life has to offer, while enticing more into the fold with promises of wealth and power. It is for this reason that any temples and shrines to the Old Deus are exceptionally lavish and spare no expense.
The priests and followers of Asmodeus typically all have one thing in common, as well. They all don the finest suits gold can buy, presenting themselves as the pure image of opulence and power. It is for this reason that many people are wary when they see a group of people in suits. One can never know whether they're simply corporate, or followers of the Old Deus himself. These people typically come from all walks of life. Whether they were once poor and enticed into a life of indulgence, the rich who seek to expand their fortunes, or simply those that wish for a more refined pleasure compared to that of Amatus, it doesn't matter. Any are welcome to make a bargain, and offer their servitude to the Old Deus of Indulgence and the Nine Hells.
Many within Kagrea find it rather disturbing that such a blatantly evil deity is worshipped and praised throughout Kagrea, with many calling for him to be struck down from the Big Twelve and to join the ranks of the other Forbidden Gods, but this request has been turned away by Almeric time and time again. The followers of Asmodeus, unlike Flyn's, aren't destructive, and often do much to add to a city's commerce and trade. That, and the church often cites that in following Asmodeus clearly entails what you're getting into, and it has been upheld both among the Arisen, and the priests below, that every mortal has the right to choose between good and evil and all the consequences that come with each.
Asmodeus lords over his fiendish hordes from within his fortress of Nalsheem, nestled in the depths of Nessus, the ninth and deepest layer of the Nine Hells.

Depiction:

A twisted image of the celestial blood that once bore him, the Lord of Indulgence is revealed in murals, tomes, and pictures as being a handsome tiefling, commonly shown wearing a suit and holding a cigar. Two curling horns rise from his brow, and his lips bear an eternal, knowing grin.

Enemies:

Asmodeus's enemies are numerous, consisting of deities within and outside the Adamantian court. His enemies even exist among the more evil gods, many of whom only follow the archdevil for fear of his immense power. His archnemesis is depicted to be both Almeric, who continually wrangles him into the vices of mortals, and many of the Arisen who disparage him and hold him in contempt for the way he meddles within the universe.
Beyond the gods, many nations disparage the Lord of the Nine Hells for the selfish nature of his followers, yet its undeniable that there is always a quiet respect for his immense power. After all, countless souls have willingly submitted themselves to the Nine Hells in the name of indulgence and gain.
