Malginess Miner’s Exchange

The Miner’s Exchange is a trading post where local miners have their valuable finds weighed, measured, and paid out. In the absence of any local lord or authority, the exchange also serves as an unofficial records office, registering claims to various streams and excavations around the area. There isn’t any real gold rush in Malginess, but enough wealth is hidden in the nearby streams and valleys to support a good number of independent prospectors.

The exchange is a great place to meet people who spend a lot of time out and about in the countryside surrounding Malginess. The guildmaster is an ambitious and calculating tiefling woman named Halia Thornton. In her attempts to establish the Miner’s Exchange as the closest thing the town has to a governing authority, she acts as more than a simple merchant.
Location

The exchange is located to the southwest of Malginess, and directly east of a trail used by the local miners.

Atmosphere

A lot of the villagers spend their time here, particularly those that have spent most of the working day around the countryside. All business is conducted on the first floor of the building.

Services

The company purchases quantities of ore and gems from the miners of Malginess. Each piece is carefully measured and weighed, and then its price is determined. In addition, the Exchange has a wide variety of goods for sale. It is also the best place to purchase carts and wagons in Malginess.

It further functions as a records office, which registers claims to specific parts of the land, such as valleys, streams, and excavations.

Architecture

It is marked by a sign bearing an image of two crossed pickaxes over a lump of gold.
