The Malgian and Tangloveen War
The Conflict
Deployment
As the Malgians declared war against the Tangloveen Empire, they positioned their forces to the north end of their respective borders in order to control the closest gap between their territories.
Battlefield
Rather than a direct conflict between armies, the Malgian and Tangloveen targeted each other's cities. Malgian forces focused on the north-most city of Knottom, taking advantage of proximity to their homeland's capital and desert terrains. The Tangloveen sought to attack Malgian's youngest city, Fessime, which was the only territory the Malgians had with access to the sea.
The Engagement
In 4225, Malgian forces moved west to flank Elven city of Knottom. By 4250, the Tangloveen countered by launching an assault towards the Malgian city of Fessime. In responce, Malgian forces advanced on Knottom, surrounding the eastern side, and positioned reinforcements to the north and northeast. In 4275 as Tangloveen forces advance towards Fessime, they began pillaging surrounding farmland. Malgian forces countered by begining their direct assault on Knottom from the northeast, successfully defeating an estimated quarter of the city’s defenses. The assault on Knottom continued for half a century, whittling down more than half of the city's defenses. Heavy losses were reported as almost half of the city of Fessime was bombarded by Tangloveen forces. Malgian leaders publicly declared friendly relations with The Halfling Siapreen Empire, possibility to rally support and put more pressure on the Tangloveen to withdraw. By 4350 the Malgian had made major progress besieging Knottom, with estimated reports of the city’s defenses being worn down to one sixth of their former glory. Meanwhile the city of Fessime continued to endure Tangloveen attacks, and was reduced to one third of its defensive force.
Outcome
In 4375, peace talks with the Tangloveen prove successful, and respective forces withdrew from their mutual assaults on enemy cities. The city of Fessime began to recover, but was less than half its original strength.
