General Summary
You began looking down at the remains of the brief brawl in the alleyway
You were taken aside by several town guards and held. After a short while, a copper-skinned half-elf with hair situated in a ponytail, whose name was Arthur of house Falinda, escorted you away to a holding cell in the spire
The cell was comfortable enough, but the large presence of guards and the strength of the steel door made it clear that you were prisoners for the time being
You were interrogated, amicably at first. Hogarth shared his animosity with Arthur, which was returned
After learning basic details about your purpose in Egress and your recent adventures, the tone of the interrogation changed when Arthur detected a number of your mistruths.
With Ten guards and the Baron of Egress, Lia of House Falinda herself, at his back, he forced the party to drink Truth serum- which was resisted by all except for Hogarth
After striking the chalice of truth serum aside, Lia commanded that Hogarth be taken to the ground, and afflicted him with a Dominate Person Spell.
Utterly under the control of Lia, Hogarth confessed to the heist of the Spire Library that was done by Corvus and himself.
After some thought, she judged that you all would not be sentenced to death; rather you would pay a fine of 4500 gold, return what was stolen, and enter a contract of service with the Aristocracy of Egress
During this course of events it was revealed that they knew of Corvus' status as a fugitive and that the nobility of Khondirth was currently being held hostage by the King of Sulia, Brian Roughouzer- possibly explaining their motivation for entering the war on Sulia's behalf.
You were escorted back to your tavern and kept under guard. Because of this, you were unable to retrieve 3/5ths of the gold that you had taken to the forge to smelt down.
Hogarth decided to leave his new pony, Sunshine, behind in the Egress stables
You were taken to the ship in the morning. You met your aristocratic contact, Orist Falinda, a cousin of Arthur and Lia
You also met Hearon Bealonor, a noble of a lesser house sent as a diplomat to the Shirkhan Empire
You set off with 40 men on the Jewel of the Tibris.
As you made the turn towards the Slough of Middlesgrave, you witnessed several Cyclops heaving massive boulders at your ship
Finden deduced that they were missing the ship on purpose, and you decided to speak to the creatures.
With the power of the spell Tounges cast on Corvus by Hearon, you parleyed with the giants
While unintelligent by humanoid standards, you deduced that they wanted their cattle, which they believed was stolen by "tiny humans" to be returned to them.
You set out to find the beasts, which the cyclopses said were just a short distance away.
You found the cave, and with Finden taking the form of a wolf spider, discovered that the creatures were not 'tiny humans,' but kobolds, and the cattle, while present, were in the process of being led deeper into the cave by a kobold wielding a large cleaver.
