Session 18: Shira'Shapur

ust 12 days ago, you set out from Egress along with a Noble Delegation towards Shira’Shapur, the capital of The Shirikhan Empire. You defeated a cult of half-dragons, you bore the death of your friend and ally Rekenov, and you thwarted a plot to kidnap the 2 nobles leading your delegation. This string of triumphs was ended yesterday after a sizable warband led by 2 mages wearing Sulian appearal set upon your ship in broad daylight. Using their own magic and 2 constructed helmed horrors, they sunk The Jewel of the Tibris and set about massacring her crew.   By Orists call, you ran across the river to a more tactically advantageous position, where you defended waves of enemies as they climbed uphill. After a long, bloody battle where over a dozen enemy soldiers were slain or routed, one of the leaders was able to cast one final fireball- and killed Hearon of House Bealonor.   You were able to capture the killer. Upon Orist’s request you broke his hands to inhibit his ability to cast spells, a tactic he argued was necessary. There was no time to mourn the loss of the crew or Hearon as there was no way of knowing if more enemies were near; so you gathered your captive and Hearons body, and set out on some of the horses left behind by your attackers.   That leads us to where we are now.   Spotify : Saga of stone by will savino/ Fungal Wastes/ Mosshome (Framing) After riding for several hours you settled down and camped for the night. Verus and Hogarth took the initiative of tying up the captive, making sure he was secure before going off to rest. You assigned appropriate watches, and completed a long rest. You are all awoken at the crack of dawn by Orist’s voice, “Everyone Up!” he shouts, “It is time for the interrogation.” You now all stand over the bound and gagged body of the raider that killed Hearon of House Bealonor and devastated the crew of the Jewel of the Tibris. Looking over his body, you see that his eyes are open, and scanning each of you.   Stranded in the middle of a hostile wilderness, with limited resources and no way of knowing where your next enemy may be hiding, discovering the meaning of the raid on the riverboat is imperative to keeping you a step ahead of the many dangers that lie in the next phase of your adventure.
