Lordling

Dragons are only able to breed through the matriarchal line. So they need to take human lovers to procreate. The chosen male mate of a female dragon is referred to as a Lordling. During the time of The Dragon Monarchy this was a position of honour within the community, but with the supposed extinction of dragons there are no more Lordlings.

While the Lordling had nothing to do with the raising of their children, and had little to no more contact with their dragon partner, they did automatically join the ruling human council. As such they were expected to adjudicate between people and be a good example for how to live.

The Lordling that Soovi chose was the first to turn against The Dragon Monarchy once he learnt that they were dependent on the Dragongrass to produce flame.
