The Five are a pantheon of deities worshipped by the
Kalka'shar.
The Birth of the Five
Before the skies burned bright with holy fire; before the sun breathed life into the milky way, the great God Ashenreth breathed the darkness. He saw the quiet and the peace, and though it was empty, it was good.
Then the Goddess Elri came across Him, weary from travelling across the Universe in search of Her home. Ashenreth was taken by Her beauty and Grace, witnessing for the first time that which resides in the Light, and She in turn saw the sensitivity in His solitude.

The two Gods fell quickly in Love, mates destined to draw together, and They did. Their union breathed fire into the stars that they may be seen from afar, and Elri bore three children.
The Birth burned with the pure strength of Elri’s Love, Her power exploding from Her and burning a light in the sky so bright that all the surrounding planets had no choice but to revolve around it, basking in the warmth of its fire and breathing life upon the solar system. Elri’s three children regarded it with joyful eyes, and They were Love, and They were Light, and They were the Fate of the Galaxy itself. Elri held them close to Her breast, and deemed Them sacred.
But Ashenreth did not see it so. He saw into the future of this new life, and He saw the darkness in the souls of its people, and He saw the war, and He saw the hatred, and He saw corruption.
Do You not see it? He asked of His family, Do You not see the blight this creation may cause?
And They did not, so Ashenreth sought to save the future of His beautiful silence; to return it to the perfect solitude it once was. He fought with the stars, but they would not be snuffed. He fought with Hope, but She refused to let Him go. He fought with Love, and They turned His darkness back toward Him, forcing Him to look upon His own fear and hatred with clear eyes, and it trapped Him, and it imprisoned Him, and He remains in its embrace for all eternity.
But He will always be our Father. He will stir our hearts to Darkness, and influence our dreams to Sorrow. Be not afraid, for this is the Balance of Life itself. Without Darkness, there cannot be Light. Without Sorrow, Happiness is empty. He Loves us all, though He does not see it Himself.
And so we celebrate the birth of life in this system. The birth of Love, and the birth of Light, and the Fate that binds it together. May we hold the balance within us, and may the Light burn bright and strong forevermore.
