Dwarves

Dwarves, short but hardy folk that live within the realms of the great moutains. Known for their love of precious metals and gems. They are particulaly good at crafting weapons and armor. They have been known to mix amoungst men due to their fair trade and love of ale. They do not stray too far from their mother mountain but on the odd occation they do they can be found at a tavern surrounded by ale, songs and cheer.   Their women are be as able as the men, most are mistaken for men due to both genders having long medium length hair and females only being a slight bit shorter. Both broad in build and little if any elegence the women can be found in the taverns all the same consuming ale and brawling with fellow punters.   They are skilled in warcraft and battle strategary. They are particulaly adventurous when it comes to new tactics which makes them very unpredictable and dangerous in battle. Their favored mount is the great boar with long brown fur and tusks.

Origin

It is said that every god wanted to create a being in their image to represent them and put their stamp on this world. Trigar The Forge, the creator of mountains and the planets core wanted to create a being that would protect his mountains forever. He created the Dwarves in secret his intention was to keep them internal tasked to protect the creation he loved the most, The natural beauty of the snowy peaks. But many of year has pasted since the entrusting of the first dwarves and the dwarf kin believe that the mountains core is their birth right to do as they will.   Dwarves came second after Elves but where not seen for hundreds of years. It is said they originate from the mountain it self, some say born by the mountain. The first known sighting was by the Star Light elves as they were travelling past the mountains and noticed great statues had been formed into them. The first two kingdoms where discovered by the Elves yet no Elf has ever set foot within the great halls dwarves being very protective of their precious stones (until Clan Glitter Beards opened the Outer World Stores for all beings to enter for trade, but all else remain closed to anyone but their kin). The remainding Clans presented themselves to neighbouring races when food became more sparse on the mountain due to population growth. At this point Humans had appeared in the realm and trade alliances were fromed and both parties prospered.

Clans and Kingdoms

There are currently 4 kingdoms of Dwarves under the mountain that fall under 4 seperate clans. The Glitter Beards of Morthog, The Broad Feet of Hungmar, The Under Storms of Ardanor and The Shimmer Stones of Melboar. All formed together in alliance to be known as the great mountain kings.

The Glitter Beards

The great halls of the Gliiter Beards, its ceiling looks like the night sky floor a black marble. Shimmering stones and gems that look like the skies on a clear night. The people of the common tongue call it the outer world due to its divine beauty. Unlike other of their kin the front of the montains halls are open to trade with the neighbouring races. its halls littered with shops built into the carven it self, heavilly populated during the day with humans and the occassional elf. If your looking for jewelry this is the place to be you will find no finer craft in all the land, a helm encrusted with beautiful gems or just to gaze upon the halls beauty.

The Shimmer Stones

The Dwarves of the Melboar, able to create anything that has ever been presented to them on paper in great detail. Every king and queen of the realm has had their crowns crafter by the shimmer stones as there is no finner crafters of gold. Gold veins run through the halls like rivers down into the deepest dark of the caverns. Making their trade with gold items therefore being the most profitable dwarven clan. It is said that they vaults are filled with gold items. They love for gold runs deep and thirst to craft. They are elgantly dressed and keep archives of all currently descovered metals, stones and gems. But have a deep desire to claim all the world can produce and will mine deeper until their thirst for more is furfilled.

The Broad Feet

The Broad Feet got their name due to their considerably larger feet. Able to carry more than any other of their kin. Well known for there un parallelled ability to build unpenetrable door, gates and defensive structures. Rumor has it that a dragon would not even be able to breach the greats doors to the great city fortress of Hungmar. They have approached by a lot of the neighbouring races bareing gold, food and ale in exchange for their services to create fortifications for castles and villages. Their forges are unmatched able to create the strongest dwarven weaponry of the realm.

The Under Storms

The Under Storms of Ardanor are the toughest and most head strong of all the Dwarven kin. If the kingdoms are at risk their army is the first to be unleashed due to their zero tolerance, will and courage. They are known for their berzerkers that would die in a heart beat for their kin, they train in dual wield and full offensive stance. Their eyes as dark as the night emotionless in combat. Their weapons crafted with elebrium. With a natural ability to create lightening when truck against an object giving them a great advantage incombat. Rumor has it it souds like thunder cracking the sky when their hammers hit shields.
