After action report ;A night to Remember
General Summary
After the planning session with the Key, Quinten, it was decided to do a quick recon of the barracks that same night. Getting there was easy as it was only a few blocks away. The weather was warm with the smell of summer coming in the breeze. The moon gave some light, while the streets remained rather quiet.
Making your way around the barracks you discovered newly built hiding spots for the guards in two locations.
You also made contact with Trevor Cook and his daughter Kendra cook at the lonely spear Inn. Here you were able to devise a plan to steal two sets of keys, one for the barracks sewer entrance and the other for the gate into the barracks and the Adjutants room.There you hope to find the ledger for the hours and shifts of guards and most importantly , LT Dash Gordan.
A quick recon trip into the sewers from the Lonely spears basement allowed you to discover a surprising secret. A wall had collapsed in the old foundations and the dead were restless. The Helblades were able to defeat these unholy foes but were all scarred in your own ways.
The battle was horrifyingly quick, a mere 3 minutes but felt like hours. In the old ruins you were able to discover ancient scroll of power and a potion of healing used up to cure wounds from the battle. As well as Two dulled but still magnificent long sword blades of unknown origin.
From there you all moved to the door to the basement of the Barracks to find a small bridge, underneath a dead body. Searching the body awoke a creature of pure slime that grabbed Grumbh and pulled him in to devour. Alia leaped down to save him but discovered her Fine blade could indeed hurt the thing but at the cost of its sharp edges.It was Valath who called on her heritage to summon gout's of magical fire that burned and sizzled the slime to a puddle. Searching the garbage and body you discovered an enchanted shield as well as a strange tattoo on the body,the sign of a member of the Common Saints, a gang whos turf is across the city towards the north gate.
Taking the treasure from the crypt and the body you all leave weary and tired of the encounter. Making your way back to the Jade Jug for a much needed rest. Your night is filled with dreams of strange spirits and long dead warriors.....The morning arrives and you each go to the commons room to have your morning fill. The main room has a dozen patrons, the usual sort for this time of day. You sit at a familiar table and discuss today's plans...........
