Duke Lawrence Codrington, Lord of Haildonia

Duke of Haildonia, As the third born, Lawrence never thought he would have to rule.But in 189 AN there was a great dry spell that lowered the Arkanshan river and allowed the Blighted to cross its shallow waters, killing hundreds of locals. The Codringtons dispatched their defenders and Lawrence's two eldest siblings along with his father lead the attack of Arkanshan ford, the death toll was great but the flood of the blighted was stopped.
The unseasonably dry weather showed the weakness in the belief that the river would hold the blight at bay. Now each year since the river has been showing a trend of the same. Every fall Lawrence has to hire more mercenaries to help patrol the rivers edge while the Duke leads his knights to do battle with a blood-lust of revenge in his heart,they say he has a death wish as he charges into the blighted without fear yelling the names of his lost family.
Rumors at Helkirk court say that the Grand Duke is thinking of sending him back to the royal court and replacing his position with someone calmer but there are many that see his cry's for battle readiness as a rally call to renew another Crusade and destroy the blight once and for all.
The loss of his family has given him the drive for revenge, he has been reckless to the point of suicidal but the knights around him say that he is blessed by Terack god of battle while some say Zheenkef watchs over him with her attentions. Either way he is considered a leader of inspiration and has won battle after battle along his shores.This has made him very popular with he common folk and soldiers as well as mercenaries.
His banner has been changed with the loss to one with the skulls of his lost family and fire around the old symbol of the Codrington line.
