The second crusade finally got the armies across the Dunborugh river.Until this time the borderlands was the main staging ground for the Uruk forces.From this valley they could push back into Eldorian stolen lands.It was known that there was a massive build up of enemy forces here and of Dragons from Tanacril joining the horde.In the flat lands now called the fields of glory, the two armies met. the fields of glory battle would start and then finish in the battle of three giants.
After that The Eldorian armies would push their way up all the way to the Arkanshan river, a formidable barrier. Here they were unable to cross due to the Uruk defenses along its side of the rivers edge.
The armies headed east all the way to Junction Lake where they found the ruins of a great city that would then on be known as Whitham, named after Lord Whitham and his men taking down a Uruk fortress located in its ruins.
This city would have a huge impact, as the ruins would be discovered to have the seal of Eldorian royalty. For a long time it was believed that this was actually Eldoria, the original capitol.
Instead future archeologist would discover that it was a small Eldorian royal town. Small back in the golden age was large by todays standards.
Here in Whitham was found the first flying ship,named Matilda after lord Whithams wife.
This ship was discovered damaged and almost unusable but eventually would be fixed to a serviceable degree. These days the Matilda is still part of the Navy and used exclusively in defense in Junction Lake.
Meanwhile the rest of the borderlands would be carved up into Duchies and given titles to his greatest warriors.These powerful men each became Dukes.
The second crusade continued up and over the Arkanshan river, only to return years later in full retreat from an endless impossible enemy,The blight.
The pitiful few returned after the crusade failed they now returned crossing the Arkanshan, struggling in rafts or any means across.Behind them came the first wave of dead walkers.
These were not like the dead animated by necromancers, these dead have a bite that turns you into one of them that no magic can stop.
The walkers could not cross the Arkanshan,because in those days the river was deeper then it is today.
With the Blight across the river unable to cross, the Eldorians began to fortify . These soldiers became the first Raven watch, over the years this would become a order of soldiers and knights who patrol the south side of the river, especially around the Shallows,lake where Walkers were able to shamble across.
Many forts were built-during this time .
The Uruk were in constant withdrawal as there chaotic nature prevented them from any real push back and defense was something that wasn't in their blood.
