Battle of Fellbridge
Military action
The Battle of Fellbridge
This was the first time there was an offensive action agasint the unstoppable Uruk.At the bridge a battle was waged where the Uruks were on the verge of slaughtering all the defenders. A blacksmith turned warrior named Marious Coddle turned the tide and charged headlong into the horde, his bravery inspired all those around and his action inspired the first Crusade.
The first year after Notime was a time of Chaos, all cohesion in the Uruk horde was gone and tribal lines were muddy, the great beast of war began to turn in on itself.
Uruk warlords held onto towns that they captured while some hordes actually came together under new strong leadership. Most fell to squabbling with whomever was near, strong orcs became war leaders overnight as the basic rule of "
Might is right" was the mantra of the day.One Orc in particular named
Daak Ironhide was one of these bosses. His horde was at the the front-lines close to the
Eldorian capitol and decided it should burn as a signal to others that he was the strongest.
The only way to it was across the river
Tavenildon, and there was only one bridge left that was still cross-able that was held by a ragtag group of men at arms. Daak Ironhides attacked at night with all his forces.Counting on mans lack of vision to aid him in battle.
The skirmish raged into the evening and seemed to stall as a group of Eldorian knights coming up to reinforce the bridge from the same side surprised themselves as well as the Uruk. This surprise attack from the rear was all it took to route Daak and his forces. Ironhides plan was to fall back and regroup. While the knights made for some nearby hills that scholars still debate as to which ones. They would later rejoin the fight as the men from the bridge were about to change history.
Since Notime , holding the Uruk together was a constant show of strength that needed the likes of Daak. As he was bashing heads renewing order he was shocked to see a crazed solder waving a shattered sword in both hands screaming in rage as he charged all alone across the bridge into Uruk forces.
What happened next scholars differ , some say divine intervention while others say dumb luck but his charge inspired the other defenders and they chased after him into the battle, this in turn got the attention of the nearby knights on the hill who then returned to battle in another fearsome charge.
As soon as the
unknown soldier reached the Uruk,Daak stepped forward ready to lay low this pitiful rebel. As the soldier reached the massive brute, whose arm held aloft his mighty axe
Foe cleaver, a blinding flare of light came from the heavens blinding him for a brief moment, long enough for the unknown soldier to slash his broken blade across the orc warlords throat, his body falling to his knees, blood spouting in long arch's.
They say there was absolute silence across the battle field at that moment as all looked at this common soldier turned instant hero. The defenders, filled with fervor for revenge closed the distance and chopped down the dumbfounded Uruk and soon a full rout became a slaughter as Eldorian knights cut down the runners. It is said this action was the flash that started the first Crusade as from this point onward, for the next few years the momentum was like water crashing through a dam flooding over the running, confused horde.
In the confusion of battle the lone soldier was never found. His blade was lost amongst all the other weapons.
