Electricity
By the purest definition, electricity is the form aspect of the
Reln Murn. However, to apply to practicality, electricity is the form something takes when the majority reln that makes up an object is Mur. With enough fire, anger, or another aspect of the reln, any object can change states to become electricity or plasma. This is the general chemistry of it, but depending on the orientations, sizes, shapes, and what other elements that compose an object, the amount of mur and its size/shape/orientation will change the variables of the electric form of the object. For example, copper is good at conducting electricity, and adding too much will cause the copper to combust/explode, but a drop of vinegar, given enough mur, will first become charged, ready to expel its overflowing mur, and will become a, for a less technical description, "shock" to whatever comes in contact with it, dispersing the "vinegar" into the object it touches.
Danger
Electricity, in most forms, is dangerous. It is fairly hot and does not want to stay in one place. If something is in the form of electricity and comes in contact with a living being, it has the potential to permeate that being in unintended (and unwanted) ways that may prove harmful. It surely is more harmful to some creatures like
Ayabba’aru compared to
Drake.
The Ayabba'aru have bodies with a majority of nep, which is most repulsive to mur; if mur were to enter their bodies, it will push things in unwanted ways, attach to things that should not have an excess of mur, or cause chemical/physical actions in the body that is dangerous. Drake, however, has an organ that is meant to act as a "lightning rod" that intakes electricity (technically fire) and stores it for the creature's later use. They also have bodies that have less water and can take the intake of electrical substances better.
Difference with fire
Fire, as a term, is a separate aspect, the elemental, of Mur. So, in essence, electricity and fire are the same thing. In practice, fire is to an object's chemical orientation as electricity is to an object's physical state. So, if the term fire is used, it is referring the element that is present and if electricity or plasma is used, it is the form in which an object has taken.
Harnesing
While Wox & Jyk are the two elements that Mur is least repulsed with, they are not handy when it comes to static structures. Like most things that need to stay in one place, kag is what is needed. However, kag is fairly repellent to mur, and mixing them may change the state to something unusable. After years of study and perfecting older forms of wiring (gold, copper, aluminum), two new forms of electricity transference have come into major popularity, dubbed collectively "Green Electricity"
Collection/Generation
The concept behind creating electricity is easy, to transform some object into the state by adding enough mur. However, coming about enough mur and having enough of an object that can intake it for storage is difficult. There are multiple common methods to generate electricity: water mills, geothermal stations, windmills, passive de-heaters, and towers.
Passive De-Heaters
These devices act like a drake's flame sac, intaking the ambient mur that can be found mixed in with air. These are more effective in drier climates, though they will lead to a drop in temperature and an increase in moisture. Lager transformers have had complaints from nearby towns claiming they affect the weather too much, making it too mucky and unnaturally cold. These also have a second benefit of acting as air conditioners as well as generators. They use some of the power they generate to operate, so while they are an easy solution, they are not the most efficient.
Towers
Towers are huge. This is not an understatement. They take mur straight from the source: the sea of fire that bubbles the world. These towers have a base sometimes on high mountains, sometimes on floating islands, and sometimes on top of tall buildings. They are thin, weather resistant, and able to sheer any wind to not waver or be buffeted. They act like a straw, reaching high above the clouds and drinking down electricity from storms higher than anyone may dare fly. These structures are masterclasses in engineering, able to withstand nearly any weather phenomenon that can happen from the surface all the way up to the sky. They are expensive too, a broken Tower a disaster for all its ability to destroy what lands on and the monetary hole it will put whoever built it in. As such, they are uncommon, but highly coveted, lucrative, and awe-inspiring to behold. Just don't fly near one less an arrant lighting strike crispify.
Green Wire
Green wire is made of two primary substances. The first is the coating, a flexible, gelatinous form of beryl, aluminum, silicon, hard water, and coiled water. The other is wirings that run through that coating, Kolzire. Neither material conducts well on its own, however, when a special compound of electricity comes into contact with an exposed kolzire wiring, it will swiftly be "sucked" into the cord and travel in the direction dictated by the cord's schematics. It will glow green when "charged" unless there is a cover placed, which is where it gets its name. This wiring system is very versatile and can suit almost any need to transfer electricity to be used for various applications.
Cord Schematics
The defining feature of Green Wiring is that the design of the internal kolzire dictates the flow direction, resistance, velocity, and amount of electricity. One wire can be specially made to have electricity flow one way at one rate at the beginning of the wire, then change halfway through, split, merge, hold charge, and more. Due to the complexity and minutia of these designs (not to mention the want for more design definitions), many make an entire career on Cord Schematics.
Green Air
Green Air was soon crafted after Green Wiring. It employs some of the same science, though the green coloring is not as prominent. The name is still stuck. The wiring is still used, but they are transmuted at a base point to travel over the air. With more Cord Schematics at play in this base unit, the direction, flow, permeation, and charge can all be dictated to flow over the air. Green Air is now widely used for wireless devices, communication, batteries, and much, much more.
Wow, that is an interesting fantastical electricity. INteresting how it ties in with flaming Drake's breath.
Thank you! I really gotta get more to these physics articles, other things will make a lot more sense when I do.
