L'Achise
A sprawling city overlooks the river valley that flows into the sea from its perch above perilous cliffs. This is L'Achise (the throne), the capital of Auximâle and the third largest city (behind Balarome, which is first, and Térance which is second). Artisans of stone working and carpentry host shops in all corners of the city, as it is a precious commodity for the politicians of Auximâle to be able to brag about their ornately carved homes and expertly wrought furniture pieces. At the very center of the city is La Couronne, or the crown, which are five towers that house the five departments of government's offices (judicial, martial, environmental, councilary, and economic), connected to these is Le Loi, or the law, which is a large building divided in half which houses both the Senate and the Council. All around La Couronne are the houses of the statesmen, shrinking as they radiate outward, as too shrinks the status of the individuals living in them.
Demographics
70% Auximalians, 10% Orthmali, 15% Giantish, 5% Other.
Government
Auximâle is a republic made up of representatives from each of the 7 regions under their jurisdiction. The senate houses 3 members from each region, and the consul houses 2 members from sparsely populated regions, and 3 from densely populated regions.
Each region is ruled by a governor, who must carry out the laws set forth by the republic. Furthermore, each town has a mayor.
Defences
La Cotte D'Armes, or the Surcoat, is the guard of L'achise that protects the city of dangers, whether unseelie fae, monster, or mortal. This elite guard is made up of talented men, women, and others, who have declared that their life shall be used to serve the nation.
