Glourane Isles

The Glourane Isles circle the Glourane Peaks in the Darkened Sea. They are home to several settlements, ports and shipping lanes. Remote locals such as the Glorane Isles don't get many visitors, so their customs and teachings are a bit different than elsewhere in the Empire.

History

Once under a kingdom called simply "Glourane", the Peaks and the Isles separated due to a civil war of that kingdom. For hundreds of years the people who lived in each region maintained bad blood between them until finally uniting under the banner of the Acenyth Republic. It is said that this was only because the Republic allowed each region to have a representative.
Years later, the uniting of the Kingdom of Spayle and the Acenyth Republic caused the people of the Glourane Isles to become more reclusive. While their villages and ports remain open to outsiders, they typically don't have a reputation for warm welcomes.
