Talphine (Tal-fin)

Standing above the average human and about twice as strong, Talphines are not pushovers. These mole-like humanoids are usually cave-dwellers that are found all over Kaldra. They are fast, cunning, can see clearly in the dark, and above all else; relentless. Known to follow strong leaders, these monsters are highly intelligent - to the point of sapience - and scholars agree that they prefer to work against humans. Until the Great Desolation little was known about them and they kept to themselves, but after what had happened they suddenly became much more aggressive.

Culturally "tribal", Talphines typically have a strong leader that is spiritually inclined as well - although scholars disagree on their actual beliefs. Most studies of their culture hits an abrupt end either by not being able to understand their language or by immediate death.

No one knows why these creatures are so aggressiive, given that they look like moles, but villagers beware as they stray too far from civilization and into the caverns...
