As the world grew more and more interconnected, both through conflict and peace, organizations grew up to ply their unique trades to various bidders. These organizations, called guilds, had been unofficial for quite some time until 559. In the Fallen City of Atresa the local Guilds signed the Guild Compact, allowing Guilds to ply their trades openly and fairly despite competition. While this Compact was signed in Atresa, and would have the largest influence on that city, nearly all of the Fallen Cities began to recognize the rights of the Guilds from that point forth, as well as their collective bargaining power and abilities.
