"The sun...where did it go?"

On a bright sunny day in Kalin, almost at noon, the sun went out.   The sun quite literally turned dark. Day became night and chaos descended on the world. People around the world dealt with wide spread rioting, chaos, and disorder. The world was halted and frightened until the Sun rose as normal the next day.   The exact nature of the Sunless Day is still unknown. Theories vary between magical shift, warped ritual, the Avatars being angry, and more. The sad truth is no know knows for sure.
