The Moon on the shores of the Lake of Swords Part 3

Now despite this lake being such a mystic and eerie place, a few people do come to it. Often they do so as a pilgrimage, because the lake is aledgedly a portal to the world of gods, which no mortal can step through. They usually leave offering of food and money by placing it in the deep end of the lake. It was a tradition so ancient nobody knows who started it.

Sadly this tradtition didn't always go as smoothly as one might think. There was a very tragic incident, where two brothers had come to the lake to ask for aid on their mothers health. As the younger one was placing the gifts for the gods into the lake, the older one accidentally tripped over a stone. The older one tried to catch himself on his brother, but the younger one didn't have a good footing and fell into the water.

The older tried to catch him, but the younger sank to the bottom like a stone, drowning immediately. The older cried bitterly, since he loved his younger brother very much. They had shared so many things in their life and now he had to return home lone. Forever cursed be the lake of the gods that took his brother.
