Elf, Wood

Basic Information

Anatomy

Very similar structure to humans with slightly thinner bones. Their skulls are slightly taller, more narrow, and more chiseled. The most notable difference is that elf ears are long and pointed. They also have exceptionally powerful muscles in their legs.

Genetics and Reproduction

Sexually. Typical gestation takes 22 months.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves usually reach adulthood around 100 years old, at which point they enter a magical trance for a week. During the trance they will see visions of their ancestors, their future, and the future of their descendants. Elves can live to be around 750 years old.

Ecology and Habitats

Wood elves can adapt to different environments fairly well, but they much prefer to live in forests and near areas with strong connections to the feywild. They respect nature like a god, and try to protect and preserve the environment as best as possible.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Wood elves are omnivorous and will hunt and forage throughout their forest for whatever food they need. They are excellent hunters and will always pay respects to the plants and animals they kill or harvest before eating them.

Biological Cycle

Wood elves can experience slight mood changes during different seasons due to their fey heritage. Additionally, their skin, eyes, and hair can change color slightly to match surrounding plants.

Wood elves have very narrow faces with high features. Their eyes are narrow and usually green, yellow, or orange. Their noses are tall and narrow and they have long, pointed ears.
