Sealing Crystals
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The crystal contains a gateway to a demiplane, allowing for it to contain creatures. A creature holding the Sealing Crystal can present it to a creature, evoking the crystals magic and attempting to trap the chosen creature inside the demiplane. If the creature is captured, the only way for it to be released is if the crystal is broken. Otherwise, the creature is stuck in the demiplane for eternity, not aging or requiring any sustenance to survive. A single crystal can only hold one creature in its demiplane, no matter how big the creature is. If the crystal is targeted by dispel magic or enters an anti-magic zone, the creature can choose to escape from its demiplane, but it is not forced out like it would be if the crystal were to be broken.
Creatures within the demiplane can still communicate with creatures on other planes if they were already capable of this, but their communication is severely limited. Creatures can also grow more powerful in the demiplane, but this takes much longer that it normally would.
Manufacturing process
The gem is placed into the center of a magic with candles around the edge. A spellcaster must then cast demiplane on the gem, followed by casting planar binding. Once both spells have been cast, the gem becomes a Sealing Crystal.

Most Sealing Crystals are used by powerful magic users to capture extraplanar beings that are a threat to them or the world.
