The Seven Sword War

The Conflict

Prelude

The Clans of the Seven Swords each controlled a section of the Numaran Desert. In addition to controlling their own region of the desert, each clan's leader wielded on of seven ancient swords. Ancient legends are told throughout the clans to this day claiming that if someone can wield all seven of the swords, they will have the power of all seven clans. Because of this, each clan desired to attack the others, but none of the clans wished to initiate a conflict that they new would result in the eradication of most of the clans. On Windun 2nd, 1382, the Wúxiào Jiàn Clan attacked the Fēng Jiàn Clan, which marked the first battle of the Seven Sword War.

Battlefield

The majority of the battles took place in barren, mostly flat deserts or in and around cliffs and canyons. Some of the more influential battles, however, were massive sieges on different settlements.

Outcome

The Wúxiào Jiàn Clan was almost entirely eradicated and all of their settlements were destroyed. The Yǐtài Jiàn Clan and the Fēng Jiàn Clan joined together to form the Xīngjì Jiàn Clan. The Xīngjì Jiàn, Shuǐ Jiàn, Dìqiú Jiàn, and Gāng Jiàn Clans were united under the rule of the Huǒ Jiàn Clan, although each clan retained some autonomy.

Aftermath

Six of the seven clans were united under the Huǒ Jiàn Clan and became the Shironia Dynasty. The dynasty still has occasional internal struggles between the clans, but focuses most of its military forces outwards.
