The Order of the Timeless
Established in the time of Man, Myth and Magic; the Order of the Timeless was founded on the values of caring for those who came before you. And most importantly, immortalising the tales of those who have been graced with old age. As time has gone on the order have strived to provide the best care for the elderly, the life stories of hundreds have been listened to and recorded.
The order provide:
Prepared meals
Medical care
Social engagement
Care for public areas and people’s homes
Scribing
Funeral services
Education
The order is hierarchical, though it is considered extremely shameful for those higher on the tree to judge or disrespect those below simply because they are. Carer is a title given to all who devote themselves to the cause of the order, scribes are those who have studied hard and have earnt the privilege to immortalise life stories. The illuminator is the highest position of the order, there has only been 9 illuminators over the history of the order.
Most carers come to the order during adulthood after a calling to care and find themselves at the door. Though there has always been a population of children, another group who need care. The order will give them first names, but no last. Children can earn a last name based off their accomplishments in life, it is common for a child of the order not to be given a surname until well into maturity or even until they are elderly and requiring care themselves.
