Nariman Zandos

Explorer, diplomat, and anthropologist

The only known outsider to be accepted by the Uklidnit Pastvina tribe of the southern prairies of Allegri, this famously flamboyant explorer has written several dozen papers for the Dannamore on their way of life, society, and all aspects of their day-to-day lives. In every essay, paper, or thesis, he recounts very clearly how frustrating it was to live with these facinating grasslanders only to be completely excluded from their clan hunter rituals. Totally welcomed as part of the tribe, the Moudri-Vud of the clan even tried to marry him off! Parents trusted him to supervise their children, he helped prepare meals and repair damaged items, however he was never allowed to observe any hunter rituals or meetings.

Originally he had concerns for working directly under the thumb of the university, but over the years he has only received support from them, even during setbacks and failures. This doesn't mean his losses didn't have concequences but the educational branch continued to support him in his desire to learn from, and about, the grasslanders. Upon returning to the Dannamore University residence after many years living among the grasslanders, it was exactly as he remembered. Before settling into the comfort of civilization he began organizing and reviewing the piles of notes he'd taken over the course of his travels. Three days past before he notified the Dannamore of his return, and that was an accident. The students charged with maintaining his residence arrived for their weekly duties and were surpised as hell to find an unshaven, unwashed, wind-burned man who looked feral compared to the students' manicured hair and pristine school uniforms.

After several months of review and organization, Nariman handed his original research over to the university for review and publication. Of this material, the Dannamore published fourteen encyclopedic volumes and a hefty primer with an indroduction and basic explaination of how the related volumes are organized, since Nariman felt nothing should be listed 'alphabetically' because it's predjudice against non-native Cadence speakers and his research into divination and translation arcana has never once delivered an answer alphabetically. His original notes, journals, and even his travel pack are currently displayed behind glass in the university, along with a manequin wearing the clothing he'd made himself while living as a member of the Uklidnit Pastvina tribe. This permanent display is called the Vererant Field Study Series and is widely known as a perfect example of a curious researcher providing more detail and data than could ever be useful.
