Epnari Declaration of Folly
Now fairly well known and on display within the Athenaeum Minaret, this ancient leather hide was discovered by a party of adventurers several decades ago while searching for ruins. The site they found was once occupied by the Epnari people, a group of linguistic isolationists who were wiped out over a million years ago.
It turns out that although the Epnari have become infamous for their isolationist behaviour and the role that choice played in their downfall, they were also quite aware that it would likely turn out poorly for them. On this large hide someone wrote out, in the ancient language of the Epnari, an extremely detailed list of ways their reclusion was harmful to the people it was intended to protect.

Legacy
Since it's not known if this piece of writing was publicly known at the time of creation, most folks who examine it agree that there's quite a lot to unpack. If the Epnari knew their tradition was dangerous, why did they cling to it so strongly? Was it part of a spiritual belief, and if so, why has no writing of it been found?
Ultimately, modern historians chalk it up to poor leadership and an unwillingness to change course once a decision had been made. Holding this up as an example the Dannamore, who currently have custody of the item, advocate to maintain as much transparency with the government as possible - and publicly do the same. They claim it's important for the common folk to be involved in the choices their leaders are making, or they risk blinding following a course of action that no longer serves the greater good.
