Huean
This bright blue and mercurial metal has been used to craft a unique type of arcane foci that have rarely been found in ruins and ancient catacombs. When arcana is channeled into these artefacts it is distorted, warped, and usually magnified in some predictible capacity. Extremely rare, these powerful wands, orbs, and staves can empower even the simplest spells to surprising heights or allow a usually brief spell to linger for much longer.
Popular rumour is that these relics are actually component parts to some mysterious and forgotten ritual or device that was shattered to prevent its power from being abused. Despite this being a popular parable among the lower class of Allegri, there doesn't seem to be any tangible proof that the relics fit together and in fact when two relics are in close proximity they seem to lose some of their intense colour.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Nearly all huean relics made of huean are slim, glass-like wands ranging in length from 30-80cm and nearly aglow with the bright blue colour combined with mirror-like reflectivity.
Physical & Chemical Properties
All huean relics are impervious to damage from extreme temperatures and radiate cold to slightly below 0'C which can eventually freeze any water in physical contact with it. Although obviously not designed for melee combat, huean arcane foci are so strong that they can be used as stilletto daggers if necessary.
Origin & Source
Behind the Curtain
Completely unknown to the wider world, the only known source of huean is pulled from the ancient Primis archive that Calzma Fortress was built on. The goddess Tuara is also tied to the location and is solely responsible for huean, its refinement and the process of shaping it into balanced and powerful arcane tools.
History & Usage
Discovery
When the goddess Tuara finally returned to the place they awoke millennia ago, they discovered a small settlement of humans had build its inner fortress directly on top of it. Tuara learned that a human shaman had somehow sensed the power radiating from the Pillar and figured out how to 'ride' or 'flow' with the metaphysical current. Unknown to the humans, the citadel that housed Tuara and Landr contained the material that radiates these waves of potential energy. Once Tuara infiltrated the settlement and learned that the humans didn't know how to enter the underground citadel, Tuara seduced their leaders and took control of their young and developing culture.
