Darshan (a.k.a. Darsh)

Darshan was once a rarity in the realm of Karavas, but like everything on Karavas, the glimmer of something more in him was torn out root and stem.
Two years earlier, Darshan was exploring deep cave systems with his sister, lover, and friend when cultists apprehended them. They took them to the ruins of an old protoan church and there began ritually sacrificing them to a dark god. They killed Darshan's lover, Bopha and his friend Navin right before his eyes, but before they killed him and his sister, their ritual was interrupted by an Orak knight. Two of the cultists managed to escape in the turmoil, taking Agni, his younger sister with them. He believes her to be slain, but she was in fact indoctrinated into the cult and is determined to find her. During the ritual, Darshan was afflicted with Petrasy, a poetic set up to the dark conclusion of the sacrifice wherein the spirits of his loved ones would reside inside the eternal sarcophagus of Darshan's body.
Even though he survives, he ends up enslaved to another evil, a mad-scientist hell bent on becoming a god. But in this dark twist of fate, he also finds a path to redemption in that he discovers both that his sister is alive, and that he might be able to cure himself using some form of occult magic.
As the eldest, Darshan believes that he is responsible for and the vessel of his kin's suffering. The event fragmented his mind so that he also developed a deep psychosis where he sometimes hears his dead ones in his mind and sometimes see them. 1. Sister - Agni - still alive 2. Lover - Bopha 3. He is intentionally afflicted by the cultists with the disease known as Petrasy or colloquially "the walking tomb" or "stone walker."
He is sent to an encampment for these kind of people, there are many like it across Karavas. There, a human trafficker steals him and brings him to Memnon, who cuts out his tongue and uses him as a slave or henchman.
Ultimately Darshan is surgically conjoined with an eldritch larvae that metamorphoses him into a draconic hybrid that can leech power from the Elder gods.

Motivation

Logline: A self-loathing man flees captivity from an ambitious mad scientist when he discovers that his presumed dead sister is in fact alive and the mysterious specimen in the laboratory might be the answer to curing his incurable affliction.
What if: What if an enslaved man who believed he was going to die, discovered that the sister he thought had been killed, was in fact still alive and in the clutches of a dark cult. With the spark of hope rekindled in his heart, he will take any risk, any chance to save his sister, but first he must escape the mad scientist who is his master and with time slipping away as his body deteriorates under an incurable disease, he must decide if a dark bargain is worth the precious time he needs to find Agni.
