Memnon

The master of mysteries and ancient histories of the Emperor of Azkosh. He has his own agenda that does not include Hazrans whims of expansionism.
Memnon is an investigator, historian, archivist, and natural philosophist/er who has dedicated his life to unlocking the mysteries of the past and the natural world in pursuit of preternatural power. 
Ultimately Memnon achieves his aims, but not in the way he had expected or ultimately dreamed of. Memnon will be manipulated by Noth and granted immortalitiy only to live in eternal, trapped, solitutde in the forgotten kingdom of Mu beneath endless tides, going mad, but unable to kill himself until the end of time.
