Stoneroot Curry

Caravans like ant trails in the countryside of Karavas. From the shrewd merchant districts of Zer Zim to the enormous markets of Turak and the distant floating markets of Shol, merchants sell their exotic wares. Even the recluse island of Skagerak turns a blind eye to the black markets and illicit trade that occurs in the cave systems on the rocky island. 
The vibrance of these districts, the sweaty butchers selling exotic meats from Colossal Varanus drawn carts, jewelers with brilliant gemstones, and beast masters auctioning strange and exotic specimens from distant lands hint at the enormous lengths that merchants must undertake to reach their destinations. 
The merchant from Zerude will be able to sell their fine wines from desert cacti at a much steeper price in Azkosh than in Kar Zaphiros, the Azure Fountain, but this requires travel. On their journeys, everything they bring must be carried either by the sweat of the merchant's brow, or by encumbering their beast of burden. 
A common solution for many traders, merchants, and travelers of other variety is curry. Not any variety of curry, of which there are many, but Stoneroot Curry. The eponymous root is richly flavored and exceptionally spicy, but most importantly, it is brimming with essential nutrients and easy to make when the sun is going down and time is of the essence. The root can be pulvarized into a powder that can be mixed with water and heated to conjure a fragrant and filling meal. Add the meat from a fresh kill, some herbs and vegetables and you have a veritable feast. 
The Stoneroot is uniquitos in Karavas and farmed to exhaustion due to its popularity and demand. The budding plant that grows above-ground has a grey shell that gives the plant its eponymous name. The root that extends beneath the rocky terrain is long and akin to a tuber or potato in appearance. Also referred to as:
